Documentation center at the EU Knowledge Hub in Malaga
The Documentation Centre Political Islam (DPI) is participating in the EU project Knowledge Hub on Prevention of Radicalization. From 6 to 7 March, the European Commission initiative organized a “Strategic Communications Training for Local Authorities” in Malaga. Among the participants were people from various European countries, including DPI press officer Sascha Krikler. The event provided a valuable opportunity for cross-border cooperation, general exchange and the further development of communication skills. For example, solutions to various crisis scenarios were developed in working groups.
The EU project aims to support the member states in effectively combating radicalization. One of the main objectives is to promote a coordinated approach at EU level. Experts from various specialist areas in the member states are supported in this. Workshops, training and mentoring programs will be carried out as part of the project.

The ORF news programmes ‘Aktuell nach fünf’, ‘Wien Heute’ and ‘ORF III Aktuell’ reported on the new study by the Documentation Centre Political Islam (DPI), which was published in cooperation with the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP). DPI Director Lisa Fellhofer talked about the results of the explorative study. -

In cooperation with the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), the Documentation Centre has published a study on the Chechen diaspora. The publication is based on interviews conducted in Vienna, among other places, and offers insights into Chechen society and history as well as a current analysis of the diaspora communities. -

This year, the Conference on Extremism and Radicalisation Austria (CERA) of the Documentation Centre Political Islam (DPI) took place in Vienna for the third time. Over 80 participants took part in the conference entitled ‘Political Islam between Idea and Practice’, among them renowned personalities from academia and research.
